Andover's Shawsheen Luncheonette Closing As Owners Retire

Bryan and Amy Guay are retiring and closing their restaurant on Aug. 29, they said.

ANDOVER, MA — Shawsheen Luncheonette will close permanently Aug. 29, the owners said on Facebook.

The owners Brian and Amy Guay are retiring, they said.

"We want to thank all of our customers for the many years of loyalty, love and support you have given us," they said.

The couple previously attempted to hand off the breakfast restaurant in 2019, but the would-be buyers backed out due to the expected cost of bringing the restaurant up to code, the Eagle-Tribune reported at the time. The restaurant did not comply with updates to the health code since it was built.

"I feel that our business is not salable at this point because of the requirements from the town to bring it up to code," Amy Guay told the Eagle-Tribune at the time.
