Back To School: Andover Start, End Times For 2021-2022 Year

ANDOVER, MA — When students return to school in Andover Sept. 1, they will be following a different schedule than in years past.

The School Committee voted in June to set new stat times going forward, geared toward the medical benefits of letting older students sleep later.

All start times were shifted later, resulting in a 9 a.m. start at the elementary level and an 8:15 a.m. start for older students.

The full start time schedule is:

• Andover High School: 8:15 AM to 2:51 PM
• All middle schools: 8:15 AM to 2:50 PM
• All elementary schools: 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM

For early release days, the schedule is:

• Andover High School: 8:15 AM to 11:30 AM
• All middle schools: 8:15 AM to 11:30 AM
• All elementary schools: 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM

Bus routes and assignments will be posted the week of Aug. 23, the district said. The district warned that bus stop locations and bus numbers for AM and PM stops may differ and buses might display signage for other districts, due to a driver shortage.

There will be no more B-runs for buses.
