Why are you seeking elective office?
I am seeking office because I bring common sense, leadership and hard work to the job as State Senator, and I want to continue getting the job done for the residents of this district.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Funding for education and keeping taxes low for seniors. I will continue bringing state funds back to support our public education and will ensure all towns in our district are taking full advantage of the state's school building assistance program. Also, I have been a strong supporter of the Massachusetts Senior Circuit Breaker Tax Credit, which will help our seniors stay in the communities they have helped build.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have a proven track record of delivering for this district; whether it be education, healthcare, mental health or public safety, I have been a relentless advocate for this district.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
Other priorities of mine include: adequately funding mental health services, increasing public safety and providing common sense leadership to our district and state.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I would cite my experience as a small business owner in this community. I understand what it's like to make a payroll, pay unemployment insurance and find creative common sense solutions to practical problems day in and day out. This, coupled with my experience as a local official gives me the experience and pragmatic knowledge I need to get things done for this district. My office has helped out over 3,000 people with constituent issues.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
There is no magic in life, only hard work.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I bring common sense and hard-working leadership to the Statehouse and have been a relentless advocate for the people I represent.
