'The Best Mail Carrier I Know': Andover Hero

ANDOVER, MA— When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

Hero's job: Postal worker, delivers mail, mail carrier

Reason for recognition: Derrick is the best mail carrier I know. My family and I are so proud of him. Derrick puts his life and his family's life at risk being an essential worker going to work everyday and still with a huge smile on his face. He is very polite and friendly.

One thing to know: He always has a smile on his face on a good or bad day, no matter what, and it kinda rubs off on people. He also loves all HIS dogs on his route.
