Census: Andover Population Jumps, Surrounding Communities Vary
The US Census figures released Tuesday show an increase in population for Andover since the beginning of the Millennium.

The town of Andover has been growing over the past decade, according to new 2010 population figures released Monday by the US Census Bureau.
The town of Andover's population increased by 6.25 percent since the year 2000, jumping from 31,247 to 33,201.
According to the Town Manager's fiscal 2012 proposed budget, Andover saw the construction of 330 new single-family dwellings from 2001 to 2010, with a spike from 2001 to 2004.

The Building Department reported Andover issued 12,852 building permits from 2001 to 2010. Those building permit fees produced revenues over those 10 years totaling $10,744,494.
Earlier this year, the Census Bureau reported that the population of Massachusetts as a whole went down and the state may be losing one of its 10 congressional seats.
