DCS Weekly: Go Skiing or Cut Coupons

Community Services provides programs for kids as well as adults. Check them out next week!

The mission of Community Services is to provide the residents of Andover a myriad of social, educational, cultural and recreational opportunities embracing diversity and accessibility for all. At the end of each week, the Department of Community Services will provide a column on Andover Patch that updates the community on recent happenings at the DCS as well as upcoming programs.

Bradford Ski & Snowboard Club- DCS’ Bradford Ski & Snowboard Club is in full swing and enjoying the unseasonably warm weather this winter.  We are three weeks into the popular after school program for elementary and middle school students.The annual program begins each January in conjunction with the Bradford Ski Area and goes for six weeks.   • Coming Week's Programs, Jan. 30 to Feb. 4:
Toddler Programs: Music for Tots focuses on the wonderful world of song, rhythm, and movement. Participants will learn basic music skills through a variety of children’s songs, musical instruments, and movement activities. A different musical instrument will also be made at each class.
Some additional toddler programs starting this week include Little Palls Play Group, Tiny Tykes Basketball, and Soccer. Toddler programs are run by DCS staff member Jessica Miele.
Youth Programs: Youth dance programs begin Jan. 30 with Miss Bev.  Courses include Baby Ballet, Ballet & Tap, Dance for Fun, and Baton Twirling.  Ages as young as 20 months-10 years old can enjoy their respective classes.  A recital will be held for the spring classes which start in April.

Here are some additional youth programs starting this week: Kid’s Taekwondo, Create a Children’s Book, Russian for Youngsters, Valentine’s Cupcakes, Better Your Letters, Young Artist’s Painting Studio, Basic French, Hip Hop & More, Jubilee, and Spanish Conversation II.

Adult Programs: One session classes this week include: The Language of Wine, Wine Sense, Lentils, and Extreme Couponing. Each course has its own unique structure to learn about different wines, explore the flavors of lentils, or to begin the journey of couponing.

Here are additional adult programs starting this week: Picture Framing, Italian Conversation I & II, French Conversation I, II & III, Zumba, and Baking Essentials.

We do not prorate. VISA and MasterCard are accepted. Checks should be made payable to the “Town of Andover.”
Non-Residents: There is an additional $10 fee per course for non-residents. This fee is waived for those who work or attend school in Andover, one session workshops, trips and courses priced $15 or less.
