Detectives Bust Two with Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.

Thursday, Dec. 3

At 9:13 a.m. police arrested Vicente A. Castillo, 33, of 113 Berkeley St., Lawrence, on Lowell Street. Castillo was charged with the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

At 1:14 p.m. a caller reported a hit and run on Lowell Street. The caller said a brown dump truck hit a street light on Lowell Street and then fled the scene.

At 4:42 p.m. a caller reported that his phone was stolen while parked at a Lupine Road auto shop.

Friday, Dec. 4

At 2:21 a.m. Tewksbury Police reported a vehicle that crashed off the road into the woods on Dascomb Road in the area of Interstate 93. The vehicle was towed and the operator of the vehicle was injured and treated by an ambulance.

At 5:01 a.m. The Monastery St. Claire on River Road called reporting a gentleman who is homeless and is banging on the door trying to get in and out of the cold. The man was found to be reported missing from an outreach home in Lawrence. He was transported to Lawrence General Hospital for evaluation.

At 12:37 p.m. a caller reported a truck in the area that may be illegally dumping on Abbot Bridge Road. An officer could not locate the vehicle.

At 1:40 p.m. trespassing was reported on River Road.

At 2:25 .m. a two-car motor vehicle accident with no injuries was reported on Punchard Avenue.

At 2:29 p.m. a detective with a vehicle stopped requested drug-sniffing dog on Stevens Street. Two individuals were evenutally summonsed with conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Saturday, Dec. 5

At 9:50 a.m. a caller reported that someone used his credit card on Tewksbury Street without his permission.

At 10:30 a.m. a walk-in visitor reported that items were taken from his condo on Washington Park Drive sometime last week.

At 11:33 p.m. police arrested a juvenile Andover resident on an outstanding warrant on North Main Street. The warrant was for a probation violation.
