Does the Horn Bridge Pose a Major Traffic Issue?

The low railroad bridge that crosses over Central Street is constantly catching overzealous truckers and causing traffic backups. What do you think is the real problem?

A week doesn't go by where police aren't reporting some type of traffic backup at the Horn Bridge, the small railroad bridge that runs over Central Street at the intersection of Andover Street and Red Spring Road.

Tractor trailers and box trucks are regularly getting stuck under the low bridge that runs over a narrow piece of roadway and it continues to be an annoyance to neighbors and residents in an ongoing basis.

But some readers have recently commented that, as they sit in the back-road traffic jam, there doesn't seem to be much signage about the height of the bridge, if any. It's not perfectly clear who is responsible; maybe truckers should be more careful; maybe the town should have prevented this; or maybe the bridge design was flawed from the start.

Does the Horn Bridge just need more signage? Is it time for major reconstruction? Or is it fine how it is?
