Election 2021: Ten Candidates Certified For March 23 Ballot

Candidates have two weeks to withdraw before ballots will go out to mail voters.

ANDOVER, MA — Ten candidates were certified Wednesday to run for local office in the March 23 annual Andover town election, the town clerk said.

The majority of the candidates for the nine seats available were incumbents, joined by perennial candidate Shishan Wang running for a seat on the School Committee again. All nine incumbents for the seats up for re-election are running.

The following candidates were certified, per Town Clerk Austin Simko. Incumbents are marked with an asterisk

Moderator (one seat)

  • Sheila M. Doherty*

Select Board (two seats)

  • Christian C. Huntress*
  • Ann W. Gilbert*

School Committee (two seats)

  • Tracey Ellen Spruce*
  • Susan Kathleen McCready*
  • Shishan Wang

Trustees of the Punchard Free School (two seats)

  • Melissa M. Danisch*
  • Eric Stubenhaus*

Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical School District Commission (one seat)

  • Marilyn M. Fitzgerald*

Housing Authority (one seat)

  • Daniel T. Grams*

The candidates have until Feb. 18 to withdraw from the ballot. Once the ballot is finalized, the town clerk's office will begin mailing out ballots to those who have applied to vote by mail, Simko said.
