Five Things, Dec. 31: New Year's Eve Edition
Before you start the last day of the year here are five things you need to know.

1. Parking Ban Still in Effect: The Winter Parking Ban is still in effect New Year's Eve following Saturday night's storm which brought roughly 6 inches to Andover, according to the National Weather Service. All street-side parking is prohibited until the ban is lifted.
2. New Year's Trash & Recycling: Regular collection will occur on Monday, December 31st. No collections will occur on Tuesday, January 1st. The remainder of the each week will be delayed one day, Wednesday through Saturday. Questions may be addressed to the DPW at dpw@andoverma.gov or 978-623-8350.
3. MBTA Free After 8 p.m.: For those braving the subways and commuter rails for New Year's Eve festivities, all MBTA services are free after 8 p.m. Check out more details and the modified schedule for tonight.

4. Gas Prices: Here are some of the lowest unleaded gas prices according to motortrend.com: the 65 Main Street – $3.38/gallon; Sunoco, 220 North Main St., $3.34/gallon; Mobil 14 N. Main St., $3.59/gallon.
5. Weather: Today will be cloudy with a high of 32 degrees. Tonight will bring more clouds with a low of 25 degrees. Winds will vary from 7 to 13 miles per hour.
