Here are five events for the family...or just for parents.

It’s Thursday and you probably have some hot plans for the weekened. However, sometimes things fall through and, in that situation,  Patch is coming to the rescue.

1. JUMPSTREET BAND AT PALMERS

Where/When: Friday, March 11, 9 p.m., Palmer Restaurant, 18 Elm St., Andover.

Why Go: The JumpStreet Band, a Boston-based group, covers all of the classics and present day hits in a variety of genres, including rock, blues, jazz, R&B, etc.

Where/When: Thursday, March 10, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fitness Together, 166 North Main St., Andover.

Why Go: This isn't really the weekend but it sounds like a good time. Fitness Together, at 166 N. Main Street, is celebrating their 6-year anniversary and is inviting the public to meet the staff and tour their new facility. They’ll serving Hors d'oeuvres and beverages. They’ll also throw in a free chair massage.

3. A STROLL THROUGH THE WOODS

Where/When:  Sunrise to sunset at Harold Park Forest, Andover/North Andover.

Why Go:  Enjoy the sounds, smells and sights of a budding spring season while hiking through Harold Park Forest This weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday are expected to be at least 50 degrees each day.

4. SAMANTHA FARRELL AT GLORY

Where/When: Friday, March 11, 7 p.m., at the Glory Restaurant, 19 Essex St. Andover.

Why Go:  Enjoy a night out at Glory Restaurant with the classic soul, blues and jazz stylings of Samantha Farrell, a musician reviewed by publications such as NBC Los Angeles and the Huffington Post. Farrell and two other musicians will hit the stage in the Glory Lounge.

5. GIRLS BASKETBALL AT THE GARDEN

Where/When:  Friday, March 11 at 3:15 p.m., TD Garden,

Why Go:  The Andover girls varsity basketball team is in the state championship against Acton-Boxboro at the TD Garden in Boston and the game will prove to be a groundswell of excitement.
