Five Things You Need to Know Today, July 4

Before you begin your holiday off, here are five things you need to know.

1. What's Open, What's Closed: Find out what is staying open on the Fourth of July this year in Andover. This post goes up at 6 a.m. 

2. Trash Pickup: Trash pickup will not occur on the Fourth of July. Trash pickup will be one day later after today. The 2012-2013 trash/recycling guide is attached to this article.

3. Commuter Rail: The MBTA Commuter Rail will be running on a Saturday schedule on the Fourth of July.

4. Fourth of July Celebrations: The town will be holding a host of activities for the Fourth of July beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at noon including a horribles parade, games, music and more. All activities will be happening around the Park, at the intersection of Bartlet Street and Chestnut Street.

5. Weather: Today will bring a 60 percent chance of rain with a high temperature of 85 degrees. Tonight will bring a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms with a low temperature of 68 degrees.
