House Broken in to on South Main Street

The police log for Monday, Feb. 21 contained one arrest and several small incidents.

The following are excerpts from the Andover police log. The log is open to the public.

Monday, Feb. 21

At 9:10 a.m. a Donna Road resident reported that a car was left in the neighborhood and he feels it was stolen and abandoned on his street. An officer responded and found no problems.

At 2:45 p.m. police arrested Julio J. Hernandez, 26, of 139 Hall St., Haverhill, on Poor Street. Hernandez was charged with the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and an unsafe lane change.

At 5:11 p.m. a caller reported that the lights south of Shawsheen Plaza are not working properly. Public works staff was notified.

At 7:49 p.m. police issued a verbal warning for littering following a motor vehicle stop on River Road.

At 10:43 p.m. a caller reported that her house has been broken into on South Main Street. Entry was made through the side door using what the caller felt was a crowbar. An officer checked nearby houses and they were secure. The incident was filed.

At 11:48 p.m. a caller reported that a vehicle that was parked outside his residence with hazard lights going on Lovejoy Road. The vehicle had ran out of gas.
