Kidnapping Turns Out to Be a Joke
The following information was supplied by the Andover Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

What started as a possible kidnapping case was actually a bizarre prank.
On Friday just after noon, a man called the police station and reported that his brother had been kidnapped after a vehicle accident on Main Street. He said someone called him and said they had his brother and demanded ransom for the brother's return.
Police investigated the matter and located the brother, who had been at work all day, and determined it to be a prank.
