'Kind And Compassionate': Andover Hero Pharmacist, Mask-Sewer

Andover's Parvathi Kumar organized a group of friends to hand-sew masks to alleviate critical shortages in PPE for hospital workers.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
In addition to continuing to work as a pharmacist throughout the lockdown caused by the pandemic, Parvathi organized a group of friends to hand-sew masks to alleviate critical shortages in PPE for hospital workers.

To do so, she acquired materials for making masks and dropped them off to skilled locals and mailed them to seamstresses out of town. She then collected the finished masks and mailed them to essential workers in New York City as well as shelter in Lawrence to which she has also been delivering dinners on a monthly basis for the last three years.
