Lawrence Man Charged with Assault and Battery on River Road

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.

Sunday, Feb. 2

At 12:23 a.m. a caller reported a large party in a room at a River Road hotel and said that 10 to 12 people were refusing to leave.

At 2:14 a.m. police arrested Shawn M. Cagnina, 20, of 235 Ferry St., Lawrence, on River Road at the La Quinta Inn. Cagnina was charged with assault and battery on a household member. The female victim was transported to the Wyndham Hotel.

At 12:50 p.m. a single-car accident was reported on Rattlesnake Hill Road. The vehicle was towed.

At 2:17 p.m. a caller reported a town truck backing into a town vehicle on Lowell Street.

Monday, Feb. 3

At 5:05 a.m. Andover Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a fire on Lockway Road. An officer reports there is no fire at the home. The units were cleared to return to the station.

At 5:49 a.m. a caller reported her wedding ring was stolen and feels someone was in her home on Sleepy Hollow Lane because her toilet seat was left up.

At 7:24 a.m. a walk-in visitor reported identity fraud on Morton Street.

At 3:49 p.m. a caller reported a larceny on Greenwood Road.

At 11:24 p.m. a caller reports furniture in the roadway on Beacon Street. An officer removed the couch from the roadway as well as an old carpet.
