Local Teen Charged in Attempted Burglary on Belle Haven Drive

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.

Saturday, Jan. 26

At 2:56 a.m. police arrested Jason Lenes, 17, of 22 Avery Lane, on Belle Haven Drive. Lenes was charged with possession of a burglarious instruments and attempting to commit a crime.

At 9:54 a.m. an officer checked with a person that was out on the ice on Haggetts Pond Road. He spoke with the individual and told him to stay off the ice.

At 12:12 p.m. police arrested Gordon Baldacchino, 35, of 114 Olive Ave., Lawrence, on Route 114 in Lawrence. Baldacchino was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, failure to stop for police and an equipment violation.

At 4:29 p.m. a caller reported an injured owl in the roadway on Pin Street. The owl had flown off by the time an officer arrived.

At 10:09 p.m. police arrested Michael F. Joaquin, 49, of 266 Middlesex St., North Andover, on Union Street. Joaquin was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and an equipment violation.

Sunday, Jan. 27

At 2:50 a.m. police arrested Marcos Cardenas, 46, of 67 Milton St., Lawrence, on North Main Street. Cardenas was charged with a marked lanes violation, the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating under the influence of liquor.

At 11:05 a.m. a caller reported a large water main leak on Chestnut Street. The water department was notified.

At 2:22 p.m. a caller reported a large pothole on Chapel Avenue.

At 2:28 p.m. a caller reported a stop sign that was missing on Dascomb Road. The highway department was notified.

At 9:16 p.m. a caller reported that the window to his Chevy express van was smashed on Park Street.

At 10:13 p.m. a walk-in visitor requested a restraining order for a man. An officer reported that he went looking for the male and they believe he fled through the woods near Crescent Drive. Police and State Police K-9 Units searched for the man. They eventually tracked him to Danvers, at which point Danvers Police became involved in the search.
