Man Charged With Statutory Rape, Enticement
The man allegedly met the child in a hotel room.

Police say a Norwell man met a child in an Andover hotel room for sex in late September.
Andrew j. Whittaker, 49, of 62 Brantwood Road, Norwell, was charged Saturday with statutory rape and enticement of a child. The charges follow an investigation by Andover detectives, Commander Charles Haseltine said.
Whittaker is alleged to have met with the victim at the hotel on Sept. 26 and then arranged to meet with the victim again.
"We received a complaint, from someone who knew about it," Haseltine said. "We began an investigation and determined that he had met with the child."
Police then monitored Whittaker and arranged for another meeting Saturday, and when Whittaker showed up, he was reportedly greeted by police instead of the victim.
Whittaker is set to be arraigned Monday in Lawrence District Court.
