Manhunt Follows Car Crash Involving Alleged Drunk Driver

State Police launched a manhunt for a Allentown, N.H. man who allegedly crashed his car while intoxicated and fled the scene immediately after, according to State Police spokesman Reid Bagley.

Bagley said that police first got a call of a car in the woods along Interstate 495 Northbound in Andover around 10:45 p.m. Saturday.

When state police arrived on the scene a female passenger was the only one in the car and the man had taken off on foot.

The female passenger was immediately transported to Lawrence General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Bagely said police, using the K-9 unit, found the man in under and was immediately transported to Lawrence General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The operator was summonsed and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, a marked lanes violation, trespassing, leaving the scene of personal injury, possession of an open container of alcohol.
