Mass Layoffs Hit Major Andover Employer
The layoffs are anticipated to occur this summer, according to documents filed with the state.
ANDOVER, MA — Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control will lay off 64 workers at its Andover facility, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act notice filed with the state.
The layoffs will be effective July 5.
The company's facility is located at 160 Dascomb Road.

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is a "recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries," according to its website.
The Andover facility makes GridStar Flow, "a zero-carbon, secure energy solution," Lockheed Martin wrote in a social media post.

The company is based in Bethesda, Maryland.
The news comes as Symbotic LLC announced it would cut 400 jobs at its Andover facility. The robotics company is based in Wilmington.
