Nearly 2/3rds Of Andover's July Coronavirus Cases Unvaccinated
Of 52 July positives, 34 were unvaccinated. More than two-thirds of the town's population is vaccinated.
ANDOVER, MA — Nearly two-thirds of Andover's confirmed coronavirus cases in July were among unvaccinated residents — double the fraction of residents who are unvaccinated.
There were 52 positive cases in July, the town said. Andover will resume weekly coronavirus updates amid a statewide case increase, it said.
Of those 52 positives, 34 people were unvaccinated, or 65 percent. Just 32 percent of residents are unvaccinated.

None of the July cases were among those 75 and older, a group that is 84 percent vaccinated. On the other hand, there were 11 cases among those under 12, a group that is not yet eligible for vaccination.
The town is not currently considered a high transmission community, the town said.

Andover will resume weekly coronavirus updates beginning Friday.
