North Main Street Bridge Replacement Project Underway
The project is expected to be completed in 2018.

Andover, MA - The initial stages of work have begun for the replacement of the North Main Street bridge over the MBTA railroad tracks.
MAS Building and Bridge, Inc. has been contracted by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to replace the bridge located on Route 28 (North Main Street), near the intersection of Railroad Street. The project began with tree clearing on February 15, followed by utility relocation of the overhead wires.
The work on the structure will begin in the fall of 2016 and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2018. MassDOT officials stated they they will do their best to minimize the impacts associated with the construction of the project.

The bridge carries Route 28 (North Main Street), an Urban Minor Arterial on the National Highway System, over the MBTA railroad tracks. The southern abutment/pier and portions of the northern abutment will be replaced. The superstructure will be replaced with a steel stringer bridge. A permanent utility bridge will carry all utilities.
