Phillips Andover Student Named National Merit Scholar

ANDOVER, MA — A Phillips Academy student was awarded a National Merit Scholarship Monday, the Scholarship Corporation announced.

Corwin McCormack of Boston won a National Merit Scholarship sponsored by the University of Chicago.

McCormack's probable career field is economics.

The corporation announced over 1,000 college-sponsored scholars Monday, joining 3,100 others named in June and several thousand other scholarships sponsored by businesses or by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
