Police Assist in Elevator Rescue…in Texas

The police log from Wednesday, March 30 contained many incidents, including an accident, a mailbox vandalism and a car break-in.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.

Wednesday, March 30

At 2:34 a.m. an officer reported a TV that was dumped on the side of the road near the Franciscan Center on River Road. The public works department was notified.

At 8:47 a.m. school officials at the Greater Lawrence Technical High School on River Road reported a student that had three knives on him. A criminal complaint application was filed and an officer was set to speak with the student’s parents.

At 10:38 a.m. a caller reported that two individuals outside the H&R Block on Main Street may have been smoking pot.

At 2:11 p.m. a three-car motor vehicle accident was reported in the high school parking lot on Shawsheen Road. No injuries were reported.

At 2:14 p.m. a caller reported a few youths in a green SUV that were smashing mailboxes with a baseball bat on Bradley Loop. An officer reported seven mailboxes in total that were damaged.

At 4:23 p.m. a caller reported a fox that was trapped in a pool area and was “acting strange” on Woodhaven Drive. An officer reports that the animal looks and is acting fine.

At 7:42 p.m. a caller reported that he and three siblings were stuck in an elevator. Police realized that the call was coming from Texas and contacted the Denison, Texas Fire Department. The department responded to the call.

At 8:19 p.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle break-in on River Road. The motor vehicle owner’s computer was stolen.
