Police Chase Down Reckless Driver

The following are excerpts from the log. The log is open to the public.

Monday, Sept. 3

At 12:01 a.m. a caller reported a dog on North Main Street that has been barking for the past half hour. An officer checked the area and did not hear anything.

At 2:01 a.m. an officer reported suspicious activity outside of a hotel on River Road. Two individuals were hanging out in the parking lot. The officer spoke with the two individuals and they made their way back into the hotel.

At 12:11 p.m. police received a call for an erratic operator on Main Street. Police stopped and arrested Iwona H. Kolodziejczyk, 42, of 14 Spear St., Melrose, on Main Street. Kolodziejczyk was charged with a passing violation, a marked lanes violation, a red light violation, operating to endanger and failure to stop for police.

At 2:29 p.m. a caller reported that a car was illegally parked on conservation land on Glenwood Road. The vehicle was issued a citation.

At 2:59 p.m. a caller reported an out of control male at a home on Shepley Street. The man was transported to Lawrence General Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

At 5:43 p.m. a caller reported hearing some kids in the area of the sewer pump station near the Shawsheen River on York Street and said that one of them said "Break the window." An officer checked out the situation and reported that it was a group of high school kids making a movie. No damage was found and they were moved along.

At 8:09 p.m. a two-car motor vehicle accident was reported on Andover Street. No injuries were reported.
