Police Say Three Dozen Cars Shut Down I-93 for Race

The following are excerpts from the log. The log is open to the public.

Sunday, Sept. 9

At 1:07 a.m. police arrested Anthony J. Ferretti, 18, 139 Harrison Ave., Wakefield, on Fox Hill Road. Ferretti was charged with possession of a fake ID, possession of pepper spray without an FID card and disorderly conduct.

At 7:30 a.m. police assisted State Police with a rollover motor vehicle accident on Interstate 93 in front of the Chateau Restaurant.

At 10:47 a.m. police arrested David J. Silva, 51, of 2 D Woodland St., Lawrence, on Railroad Street. Silva was charged with threatening to commit a crime and disturbing the peace.

At 1:17 p.m. an officer reported a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Elm Street. North Andover Fire staff were first on the scene.

At 2:26 p.m. a caller reported that it appears a motor vehicle was abandoned on his lawn on Ashford Lane. The vehicle was gone on the arrival of an officer.

Monday, Sept. 10

At 1:32 a.m. an officer reported that about 35 cars on Interstate 93 near River Road appear to have the highway shut down to race. When the officer engaged the vehicles, half of the cars took off northbound and the other half got off at the rotary in Methuen. Officers were unable to locate any of the vehicles.

At 3:36 p.m. solicitors asking for money on North Main Street were reported. An officer told the individuals to stop.

At 5:14 p.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Interstate 93.

At 9:19 p.m. a caller reported a go-cart stolen from his property on Green Meadow Lane.
