Resident Charged with Assault and Battery on Amherst Road

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.

Wednesday, Sept. 26

At 10 a.m. a caller reported that someone was stalking her on Brookside Drive.

At 12:30 p.m. police arrested John W. Keane, 36, of 16 Midland St., Lowell, on River Road. Keane was charged with a motor vehicle with a revoked license.

At 1:53 p.m. a bad check was reported on Standish Circle.

At 2:36 p.m. a motor vehicle accident was reported on Frontage Road. No injuries were reported.

Thursday, Sept. 27

At 2:41 a.m. police arrested Patrick J Mcavoy, 38, of 11 Amherst Road, on Amherst Road. Mcavoy was charged with assault and battery on a household member.

At 5:55 a.m. a caller reported a manhole cover missing in the area.

At 6:35 a.m. a caller reported that bicycles were stolen from her home on Dufton Road.

At 8:48 p.m. police arrested Richard W Sylvester, Jr., 48, of 294 South Main St., on Dascomb Road. Sylvester was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and failure to stop for police.
