Ribbon Cutting For New Ballardvale Fire Station Wednesday

ANDOVER, MA — The new Ballardvale Fire Station will be officially opened on Wednesday with a public ribbon-cutting, Andover said Monday.

The new station is located at 161 Andover Street.

The station will be dedicated to former Fire Chief and Selectman William T. Downs, the town said.

Construction of the new station was approved at a special town meeting nearly three years ago, after discussions dating back to the 1980s. The prior station at 161 Andover Street was over 120 years old.
