Rt. 28 Bridge Project to Begin in 2014
State transportation officials said that the replacement of the Route 28 bridge over the train tracks near Railroad Street may begin next year.

The State Department of Transportation is planning an extensive bridge replacement project in Andover on Route 28 just outside of downtown. Officials say the project will reduce Route 28 to one lane at times, according to EagleTribune.com.
Transportation officials say that the bridge replacement should begin sometime in 2014, after the project goes out to bid sometime this year.
The project is estimated to cost $3.4 million and will be built in two phases. Traffic will be reduced to a single 10-foot lane in that section of Route 28, which is just south of the intersection of Railroad Street.
