Secretary Galvin Visits Andover Town Offices
Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin visited the Andover Town Offices Tuesday to talk about the September primary.

Secretary of the Commonwealth William F. Galvin visited the Andover Town Offices this afternoon to promote public awareness of the Sept. 6 State Primary. The State Primary is unusual this year in that it is on the Thursday after Labor Day.
Secretary Galvin said today Massachusetts has 4,180,918 voters registered for the State Primary.
“That represents a 1.7% increase over the number registered before this year’s Presidential Primary,” Galvin said.

On Thursday, Sept. 6 Andover voters will choose party nominees for Senator in Congress, Representative in Congress for the 3rd Congressional District (Precincts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, & 9) and 6th Congressional District (Precinct 1, Sub-precinct 7A, Precinct 8, & Sub-precinct 9A), Governor’s Councilor 5th District, Senator in General Court 2nd Essex and Middlesex District, Representative and General Court 17th Essex District (Precincts 2, 3 & 4), and Representative in General Court 18th Essex District (all other Precincts), Clerk of Courts Essex County and Register of Deeds Essex North District.
Among those in attendance were Paul Salafia, Chair, Andover Board of Selectmen, Maureen Sundberg, Vice-President of the Andover/North Andover Chapter of the League of Women Voters, Ann Cobleigh, President of the Andover/North Andover Chapter of the League of Women Voters, Secretary Galvin and Andover Town Clerk Larry Murphy.
