Elections take place in the third week in March.

The Annual Town Election is happening on March 22 and, following a deadline last week, the candidate line-up is now solidified. Featured this year is a two-way race for a School Committee seat and a three-way race for a selectman seat.
Town Clerk Lawrence Murphy commented on the local election this year.
“We have two contested races. It’s interesting,” said Murphy.

One selectman seat, which carries a two-year term and was left open by a resignation last fall, has drawn three different men from around town. Candidates for selectmen are Chandler Road resident Larry Bruce, Enfield Drive resident Daniel Kowalski and South Main Street resident Paul J. Salafia. Basswood Lane resident Douglas Adam Percy pulled nomination papers for the seat but did not return them.
For the School Committee, Avon Street resident Donald Gottfried is challenging School Committee incumbent Dennis Forgue for his seat on the committee.
