Teachers' Contract Report Sides with School Committee

An arbitrator recently released a report regarding the decision on whether Andover high school teachers should teach an extra class each year.

An arbitrator sided with the Andover School Committee in a negotiation process that lasted roughly two years. But the state believed the Andover High School teachers should teach an extra class each year, according to an article in the Eagle Tribune.

A state-appointed arbitrator said that the teachers' union did not have enough evidence to support their argument to keep their 3-2 schedule, (Meaning three classes first semester and two classes second semester).

She said the union was "woefully out of touch" the with current economic conditions.
