Third Suspect Arrested In May Lawrence Shooting
An 18-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Monday in connection with the May 14 fatal shooting of Edward Javier.

LAWRENCE, MA — A third Lawrence resident was arrested Monday in connection with the May 14 fatal shooting of Edward Javier, prosecutors said.
Javier, 25 of Lawrence, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a Lawrence backyard, officials said.
Jjeremy Mena, 18 of Lawrence, was arrested Monday night. He was charged with carrying a firearm without a license and on July 1 he was indicted on charges of accessory before and after the fact of murder.

Mena was also charged with escape and assault and battery of a police officer "after he tried to flee from the Lawrence Police Station this morning," Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett and Lawrence Police Chief Roy Vasque said.
Mena was due to be arraigned Tuesday, the officials said.

A 17-year-old Lawrence resident was charged with murder in May. Francisco Jose Tejada Torres, 22 of Lawrence, was charged as an accessory after the fact of murder. Torres is accused of driving the getaway car.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
