Three Teens Arrested on Gun Charges

The police logs for Saturday, March 26, and Sunday, March 27, contained several small incidents and three arrests.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.

Saturday, March 26

At 11:54 a.m. a caller reported a fire extinguisher going off in a 50-year-old woman’s face on River Street.

At 8:30 p.m. a Sagamore Drive resident called and said that he received a phone call from his house, but nobody is home. Police stopped by the house and found nobody at home. The problem appeared to be an issue with the phone line.

At 12:20 p.m. police reported seeing a female use a town Dumpster on Bancroft Road. The female works for the town and had permission to use the dumpster.

At 12:51 p.m. police arrested three individuals at 131 River Road. Police arrested Pedro J. Nieves, Jr., 19, of 88 Osgood St., Lawrence, Alexis D Otoole, 18, 13 Center St., Methuen, and Julio Vega, 18, of 317 South Broadway St., Lawrence.

Nieves was charged with possession of liquor by a minor, possession of a firearm without a license, firearm without an FID card, ammo, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, attaching wrong plats to a motor vehicle, giving a false name to a police officer, an unregistered motor vehicle, and possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute.

Otoole was charged with possession of liquor as a minor, possession of a firearm without a license and possession of ammo without an FID card.

Vega was charged with possession of liquor as a minor, possession of a firearm without a license and possession of ammo without an FID card.

At 6:56 p.m. police performed parking enforcement at the high school. Police issued 14 citations.

At 7:39 p.m. a woman on Elm Street said that two men were trying to take her water heater. An officer responded and said that it turned out she arranged for the two men to pick it up but changed her mind.
