Two Charged with Marijuana Distribution and Intent

The police logs for Tuesday, March 8 contained several small incidents and two arrests.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.

Tuesday, March 8

At 10:30 p.m. a possible motor vehicle accident was reported on High Street. Police did not investigate the incident.

At 10:39 a.m. an officer reported a deer that was struck by a car on Haggatts Pond Road. The animal was put down and police contacted someone out of a list of local residents willing to take deer bodies.

At 12:13 p.m. police reported that the sign was down in front of the youth center on Pearson Street. The public works department was notified.

At 1:51 p.m. police reported an accident involving a car that ran into a tree on Harold Park Road.

At 2:40 p.m. a two-car motor vehicle accident was reported on North Main Street.

At 3:30 p.m. a potential shoplifter was reported at Lyn Evans on Main Street.  The call was made shortly after the shoplifter left the store. Police will file a report.

At 4:58 p.m. a resident reported that a man in the back passenger seat of a green sedan hit her mailbox with a baseball bat on Bailey Road. The mailbox was smashed. An officer checked the area with negative results.

At 9:40 p.m. Detectives came upon two vehicles in the parking lot and investigated. Police eventually arrested both Evan Hartwig, 24, of 38 Dunster Road, Boston, and Patrick T. Shaughnessy, 22, of 25 Limekiln Road, Ridgefield, Conn., on River Road. Hartwig was charged with the distribution of a class D substance (marijuana). Shaughnessy was charged with possession of class D substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute.
