Upcoming Pneumonia Vaccine Clinics
The Andover Health Department is offering a vaccination for pneumonia at the end of the month.

This was provided by the Andover Health Department.
The Andover Health Department, as part of its adult immunization program, is offering vaccinations to protect residents against the very serious disease of Bacterial or Pneumococcal Pneumonia.
The CDC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health recommends vaccination for all adults 65 yrs. age and older and for other adults ages 19yrs.-64yrs. with chronic health problems, including asthma, and also for those who smoke.

The Andover Health Department will schedule individual appointments with the Public Health Nurse for pneumonia vaccine to accommodate residents wishing to be vaccinated.
The clinics will be held at the Health Department Office, 36 Bartlet St., on Friday, Jan. 27 and Monday, Jan. 30.

Please call the Health Department at 978-623-8295 to make an appointment. Medical questions regarding the vaccine should be directed to your private physician. This immunization is different from the flu shot and is not needed annually.
