Update on Murders Unlikely Until Investigation End

Police investigators say that new information on the Orchard Crossing double homicide will not be released until the investigation is complete.

Any new details about the are not expected anytime soon from police investigators, which includes the Andover Police and the Essex County District Attorney's office.

The husband and wife were found shot dead in their Orchard Crossing mansion in mid-December. Their black Lexus was found burnt the night before in the North End of Boston.

However, since press conferences on the day the bodies were discovered, police have not released a shred of new information on the homicides. This, local and county investigators say, is standard operating procedure for an investigation.

"It’s absolutely normal," said Essex County District Attorney spokesman Steve O'Connell. "We don’t comment on an ongoing investigation."

Andover Police Lt. James Hashem agreed with O'Connell, saying that releasing any information could compromise the investigation of the two murders.

Hashem said that no new information will be released until the investigation is complete. Hashem would not provide any timeline for the investigation or comment on when it might be complete.

On the day the murders were discovered, police said that they had no suspects in the "isolated" incident. Currently, police are not commenting on whether that is still the case.

Those close to the investigation have reported that there was no forced entry into the house and the scene was cleaned up by whomever committed the vicious act.

John "Jack" Magee owned an Arlington-based development company and built housing around Boston and the Greater Boston area, including the Andover development he and his wife lived in, Orchard Crossing.
