Victim in Weekend Car Crash Identified as Andover Resident
Officials say vehicle left the road and struck a pole fatally injuring a passenger Saturday night.

The victim of a serious motor vehicle crash in Burlington over Memorial Day weekend has been identified.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan says the victim, a passenger in the vehicle, has been identified as Khatijha Kasgalwala, 72, of Andover.
The accident occurred just after 6 p.m. Saturday night, in the area of Cambridge Street at Mall Road and officials say the vehicle appeared to have left the road and struck a pole, fatally injuring the passenger.

“The investigation into the circumstances of this incident is ongoing,” said District Attorney Ryan. “What is known is that the driver struck a pole while exiting the off ramp. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family.”
Officials say the driver of the vehicle, who has not been identified, was found behind the wheel suffering from head injuries and was taken to Lahey Clinic by the Burlington Fire Department.
