Summer is crawling toward an end. But there are still a few weeks left to savor the hottest season. Here are some local suggestions:
Pomps Pond: The local swimming spot will close on Aug. 18. So there is still time to enjoy a nice outdoor swim and relaxation. A day pass is $5 on weekdays, and on weekends a day pass is $10 ($5 for children).
Tea at the Pond: And speaking of Pomps Pond summer fun, there will be "High Tea and History: Pomps Pond" at the pond, Aug. 21 at 2 p.m. Vicky Robb will tell the history of Pomp's Pond while you take in the scenery over tea.
Music: Be sure to check out the Andover Summer Concerts, every Wednesday in the Park.
Andover Day: On Sep. 7, the town will celebrate Andover Day, perhaps the biggest event in town all year.
Farm Picking: There's still time to buy some berries -- and soon corn -- at your local Farmers Market, Saturdays until October.
Hiking: Andover has a lot to offer when it comes to scenic hikes. Check out Harold Parker State Forest and various other hiking spots in town.
Ice Cream: For many, summer means ice cream. And there's still plenty of that in town.
