Arlington Coronavirus Update: Town Reports 3 New Deaths
Town officials ask residents not to confront people about wearing masks in light of the statewide face covering order.
ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington did not see a significant rise in coronavirus cases this week. The number of confirmed cases as of Thursday is 253, up from 240 on Monday. However, the town reported three new deaths since the start of the week, bringing the death toll to 28.
The number of positive cases at the town's senior facilities rose to 105 Thursday. Arlington has given out nearly 1,900 fabric masks to seniors.
Town officials will host a virtual forum on the public health response, efforts to support local businesses and how reopening might look at a local level. The forum will be hosted by Arlington Town Manager, Adam Chapdelaine, and provide opportunity for participants to ask questions and share concerns.

The state order requiring face masks or cloth face coverings in public places where social distancing is not possible went into effect Wednesday. Exceptions include children under the age of 2 and those unable to wear a mask or face covering due to a medical condition. Violation on the order may result in a fine of up to $300 per violation.
