Arlington Issues Indoor Mask Mandate
The Board of Health voted Wednesday to require face coverings in all indoor settings in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Board of Health voted Wednesday to require masks in all indoor settings in town.
Effective Thursday, Aug. 19, masks will be required in all spaces that are open to the public. The mandate applies to everyone ages 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status.
A business may decline entry to customers who refuse to wear a mask or face covering for non-medical reasons, the Board of Health said. Read the full mask requirements.

The order will be in effect whenever the Level of Community Transmission data from the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for Middlesex County is categorized as either "substantial" or "high" over a consecutive two-week period.
Once the transmission level in Middlesex County is considered "low" or "moderate" by the CDC for two consecutive weeks, the mandate will be lifted.
