Arlington Names New Community Resource And Homeless Prevention Leader

The appointee has experience in the human service field, having previously worked for other local organizations.

ARLINGTON, MA — Health and Human Services Director Colleen Leger announced this week that Denisa Burt has been named the town’s newest Community Resource and Homeless Prevention Coordinator.

Burt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Children, Youth, and Family Studies from Lesley University. A main responsibility of her new role is to work with other Arlington service providers such as the Health and Human Services and the school district to create services for those at risk of or actively dealing with homelessness.

Burt’s previous roles before being appointed in Arlington were as an Inclusion Specialist at the Inclusion Initiative in Cambridge and a Developmental Specialist at Criterion Child Enrichment. Criterion has several locations throughout the state, such as Stoneham, Framingham, and West Roxbury.

“Denisa (Burt) brings a lot of energy and expertise to the role,” Leger said. “Her skills in needs assessment, case management, and community outreach to support individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness are all welcome additions to the Arlington team.”
Burt expressed her satisfaction with Arlington’s community since arriving.
