ARLINGTON, MA — Health and Human Services Director Colleen Leger announced Wednesday that Kylee Foley has been appointed as the town’s newest Director of Public Health.
Foley holds a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Environmental Health from Boston University. She has worked for the town before, spending nearly five years as a health compliance officer for the health department in town. Her responsibilities in that role included managing Arlington’s Rodent Control Program, leading the Hoarding Response Team with Arlington Police, conducting weekly homeless outreach as well as various environmental health inspections, and helping supervise the Town’s COVID-19 contact tracing team.
The town of Dedham gave Foley an opportunity to be Health Director, a role she has served in since 2021. She expressed her excitement to now be able to return to work in the town she grew up in.
According to the town, duties of the Director of Public Health include managing public health nurses and health compliance officers, conducting disease surveillance and investigation, enforcing public health laws, assessing community needs, and serving as a liaison to the Board of Health.
