ARLINGTON, MA — Town Meeting voters passed an article giving property owners the ability to remove their structures from the Arlington Historical Commission inventory, according to a report from YourArlington.

The Historic Structures Inventory includes approximately 850 properties throughout town. Article 11 was spearheaded by resident Lois Kaznicki, and passed with a heavy majority of 208 Town Meeting members voting in favor with only six voting against and two abstaining. The Select Board supported the article, citing how the HSI tends to be “over inclusive” and challenges homeowners have faced in previous instances in which their residences were placed on the list in error.
