Arlington Promotes 2 Of Its Police Officers

A ceremony was held earlier this week to honor the pair's new positions.

ARLINGTON, MA — The police department celebrated the promotion of two of its officers Wednesday.

Officer John Kelley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant after serving the last five as a Sargent. Kelley first joined the department in 2010.

Officer Daniel Styffe was promoted from Officer to Sargent after nearly a decade of service on his resume.

“We offer our heartfelt congratulations to Sergeant Styffe and Lieutenant Kelley on their well-earned promotions,” the department said in a statement. “We are confident that both will continue to embody exceptional leadership, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our community.”

The pair was sworn in by Town Clerk Juli Brazile. Police Chief Juliann Flaherty, numerous captains, and both officers’ families were also in attendance.
