Arlington Starts 'Shop Local Bingo' To Support Town Businesses

ARLINGTON, MA — The town of Arlington and the Chamber of Commerce are partnering on "Shop Local Bingo," an initiative designed to support local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.

Here's how it works: each bingo card contains 24 local businesses and restaurants that are offering takeout, food delivery, gift cards or online shopping. Cross off a box each time you place an order. If a business closes temporarily while you are playing, it becomes a free space.

One winner per board will be chosen to win a $100 Shop Arlington First gift certificate from the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. To be eligible to win, submit your completed bingo card with receipts for each purchase by May 31st to the Arlington Chamber of Commerce at info@arlcc.org with the word “BINGO” in the subject line. Winners must purchase an item from at least one business in each column, (B,I,N,G, and O) to win.

"We hope that people will have fun with this and be motivated to support Arlington businesses. Now, more than ever, shopping local is essential to the survival of our 'main street' businesses," Beth Locke, executive director of the Arlington Chamber, said.
