ARLINGTON, MA — It took a while, but Arlington announced at 7:50 p.m. that schools will be closed here, too. This comes after the Boston city mayor announced no school for Bostonians just after 4 p.m. when the snow kept going. Others followed suit.
The governor, state and local officials are warning folks not to drive tonight if you don't have to as the roads are slick and visibility is low. And that's true in Arlington, too.
The snow is wet and started to stick in earnest a bit later than expected at around 8 a.m., by 9 a.m. it was really accumulating in town. The good news was that according to Eversource only two customers were without power as of 11 a.m. By 4:30 p.m. that number had pushed up to two.

Around 9:30 a.m. the intersection at Mass Ave and Pleasant/Mystic Street was completely out, though Eversource was on the scene and police were aware of the situation.
The few drivers on the road, including plows and mail trucks were taking it slow. A driver on the road this morning had to turn into a couple skids and watched as the US Postal Service van driver had to do the same. Drive slow. The T is running reduced schedules, the commuter rail is runing extremely reduced schedules. Logan flights are cancelled.

It's a good day for a hot chocolate and a book tomorrow, too. Maybe some sledding?
