Arlington Woman Charged With OUI, Texting While Driving In Crash
An Arlington woman was arrested after driving into a utility pole on Mystic Street last week, police said.

ARLINGTON, MA – An Arlington woman was arrested after a single-car crash on Mystic Street Wednesday. Denisa Burt, 22, was charged with operating under the influence, operator sending or receiving an electronic message and marked lanes violation.
Police said Burt was behind the wheel of a car that drove into a utility pole around 9:35 p.m. Wednesday. Burt told police she was the only person in the car at the time of the crash and had been texting her friends, according to the police report.
A witness told police Burt's car was driving south on Mystic Street when it slowly began to drift to the right and struck a utility pole, the report stated. The car spun 180 degrees and came to a stop about 15 feet from the pole, police said.

The car sustained major damage to the front passenger's side quarter panel. Burt was able to remove herself from the car and was sitting on the curb when police arrived.
