Crime Log: Car Strikes Tree, And Suspect Strikes Car In Arlington

Police Log, Friday, May 15

  • Car crashes into tree, 9:29 a.m., Gray Street

As a woman was driving down Gray Street, her pocketbook fell from the passenger’s side seat onto the floor of her automobile. When she bent over to pick it up, she crashed into a tree.

The victim was uninjured, declined medical attention, and was cited for negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Due to her license allegedly being out of state, and the car registered to her fiance, she was also cited for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

  • Bike Found, 12:10 p.m., Fidelity House

An individual arrived to the police station to report a bicycle had been sitting in the Fidelity House parking lot for a few weeks. The bike is designed for a young adult or teenager, and is currently in the police department’s found bicycle lot.

  • Hit and Run, 4:01 p.m., Park Ave. Nursing Home/146 Park St.

A woman reported her parked car had been struck by a truck that subsequently drove away.

A coworker told her he heard a loud “crunch” coming from the parking lot. The coworker allegedly then observed the operator of a white box truck pull over, look at the damage he had done by crashing into the vehicle, pick up a hubcap he knocked off, hide it behind a tree, and drive off.

  • Car Maliciously Attacked, 6:26 p.m., Appleton Place

A reporting party told police that someone had apparently kicked his car and thrown objects at it sometime during the previous night. According tot he victim, he saw young gentlemen taking phone pictures of the damage at about 3:30 p.m., however they had left the area before he could talk to them.
