Final Spy Pond, Parmenter Playground Plans Get Green Light

ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Park and Recreation Commission approved the final plans for renovations to the Spy Pond Playground, Spy Pond North Ramp Access and Parmenter Playground.

The projects will go to bid in late February, with a scheduled start date of late spring.

The design for Spy Pond includes replacing the current equipment with two new playground sets, two spring riders, a playhouse with musical panels, a group seesaw and a four-bay swing set.

At the Parmenter School, the current playground will be replaced with two pieces of equipment, including one with a climbing wall and climbing net, two embankment slides, a playhouse and a group swing. Several paved areas will be covered with rubber surfacing as well.

Public meetings on the projects were held in November and December, and comment was accepted until Dec. 23.
